August is a pretty tricky time of the year in the motor industry. It is the quietest month of the year for no apparent reason. This means that the best deals to be had are right now. I am prepared to listen to any serious offers on cars currently in stock. This is unusual, in fact , unique to this time of the year, because I usually respond to offers by enquiring what gave the prospective buyer the impression that we were an auction house ??. This response has sometimes been mistaken for arrogance, when, in fact, nothing could be further from the truth. Its just that I am passionate about the vehicles that I deal in, and feel that I musnt be doing my job properly if you feel that I have priced it incorrectly. I am always curious as to why an offer is proffered, and indeed ask for such qualification. I mean, its not as if these types of vehicles are sold on every street corner. The truth is, every one is looking for a bargain. Now I am one of those people that believes there are no bargains in cars, just good cars and bad cars. We sell good cars at informed prices, not based upon the exchange rate, or compared to markets elsewhere in the world, but based upon the principle of a good price for a good car. That principle has never changed, nor ever will, except for the month of AUGUST Take advantage of this market weakness while you can. |
